| Kate grew up in Boulder, Colorado, where she enjoyed the city’s fondness of healthy food and exercise. She played competitive soccer for fifteen years, mixed with swimming and running in the off-seasons. Kate will be a senior at the University of Southern California this Fall, where she is currently pursuing a degree in neuroscience. Her sophomore year, she began playing Ultimate Frisbee with USC’s women’s club team, the Hellions of Troy. The Hellions have attended Ultimate Nationals two years in a row, tying for fifth in 2010. Her passion for nutrition stemmed from a background of healthy eating in Boulder and her love of food. As a competitive athlete, she lives under the motto “food for fuel” and strives to maintain a diet of whole foods.
